Dunn’ Falls Grist Mill
In 1987 CMS (previously Eng-Land Design) was commissioned by the Pat Harrison Waterway District to re-create the Dunn’s Falls Grist Mill. The large task involved development of the, storage pond, directed water flow through the spillway, elevated water trough, and the related site development. The most important part of the task was the procurement of the Carrol-Richardson Grist Mill 1857, Carrolton, GA. This existing structure was dismantled, shipped to the current site, and reconstructed as directed by CMS. CMS provided all design relative to the foundation of the building, assessment of useable material from the 1857 structure, and the design of the large water wheel foundation which is situated prominently on the face of the bluff.
